TriCounty Choir Institute Performance Schedule

CHOIR INSTITUTE CELEBRATES 20 YEARS

It's finally time! TriCounty Choir Institute is celebrating 20 years, since its inception with our Anniversary Concert on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 4pm at St. James Gymnasium at Broad and Bank Streets in Sewickley. All of our choirs will be featured, including the Village Singers, the Teen Chorale, the Choraleers and the Village Quintet. Anniversaries are a big deal, because they are about what we have done together! Birthdays are solo; they happen whether we pay attention to them or not! Anniversaries never happen, unless we're all in the game!

We have changed our name from the Sewickley Choir Institute to the TriCounty Choir Institute and have now expanded to include members from 5 counties, and thanks to your continual support, commitment and enjoyment over the past twenty years, we're still around! To show our appreciation, we are rolling back the price of tickets, as they would have been 20 years ago. Our ticket price at the door for adults will be $5 and if purchased ahead of time will be only $4. Children under 12 are $4 at the door and $3 if purchased ahead of time. And if you have been one of our 700 Choral Singers, who have sung with any of our choirs over the past 20 years, your ticket will be only $2! Just identify yourself as a past Singer and sign in at the door to be recognized at our concert. And if you would like to actually sing in our 'Alumni Choir' in our finale number of 'God Bless America', be there by 3:15pm that day for a short rehearsal with our four choirs, The Choraleers, The Teen Chorale, the Village Quintet and the Village Singers.

Come hear the best of the Village Singers' repertoire that we have sung over the past twenty years, including: You Raise My Up, Bridge Over Troubled Waters by Paul Simon, Love Changes Everything, from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Aspects of Love, Dream and the Gospel Mass by Robert Ray, along with some new favorites that expresses how we feel about our members, as Unforgettable, People from Funny Girl and I Believe and I Choose You. The Choraleers, our children's choir will be performing some of their past favorites as Lonely Goatherd, from the Sound of Music, Bist Du Bei Mir by J.S. Bach. Castles In The Cloud from Les Miz, He's Got The Whole World in His Hand, and the choreographed Maple Leaf Rag. Our Teen Chorale are performing an excerpt from their Passion Play, 'Why Must He Die?' and the Village Quintet, will be singing audience favorites as Johnny Cash Medley, Bring Hime Home from Les Miz, and Turn Around Look At Me. The Choraleers and Village Singers will join together in This is My Father's World/ What A Wonderful World. Come be a part of the 'Alumni Chorus' that will join the other 4 choirs in God Bless America for our finale. It will be a special afternoon of great music and memories that you will not want to miss!
